The Colombian National Navy now has the support of the IMEXHS diagnostic imaging platform at its military health headquarters.

Recently, the National Navy of Colombia acquired the services of digitization and centralization of diagnostic images from IMEXHS, through its Aquila radiology solution, which gives access to all the functions of a VNA web platform, providing secure storage in the cloud, viewer, RIS, PACS, and business intelligence from any device and any place, guaranteeing compatibility and interoperability with other technologies.

Lieutenant Commander, Diana Carolina Morales, radiologist of the Colombian National Navy, is leading the new project to establish immediate user access to the required services, in addition to optimizing care and controlling the proper use of the Military Forces Health System, which needed an offer that would help them centralize information on all beneficiaries.

There are more than 90,000 users between the 30,000 active military personnel and other beneficiaries. For this reason, it was possible to centralize the information from the 7 army headquarters and the Naval Health Centers, having access to patient information in real-time, from any study taken at any of the headquarters, allowing the reading and consultation from any place.

Additionally, the Colombian National Army was looking for an option that would allow specialists to perform analysis and diagnosis at any time and from any device, to patients who are in remote places, since some patients had to undergo the same examination several times, in several cities, since there was no centralized information management and filing system, which caused setbacks, high costs, and delays in the care and treatment of patients.

Now IMEXHS will cover the national territory from San Andrés to Leticia, allowing centralization of information from every one of the Naval Health establishments where they take exams to the military and patients. Also, the Coveñas headquarters underwent some updates for its optimal functioning, such as the replacement of its technology in biomedical equipment, installation of flat panel, and image digitizer.

The National Navy will concentrate all its military naval capacity in contributing to the consolidation of the Democratic Security Policy of the National Government. Each of the actions must guarantee compliance with the data protection and security law imposed by the Ministry of Defense, an entity that allowed us their support thanks to our security protocols, which went through all the DISAN regulations (NAVAL Health Directorate).
