Description of changes in the mean diffusibility in magnetic resonance imaging due to reticular system injuries

patients with severe traumatic brain injury can have severe neurological sequelae that generate disabilities of different ranges according to the Barthel scale. Altered state of consciousness It is the most serious sequel and is the cause of complete dependence of these patients due to the loss of self-care.

The relationship between abnormal neuroimaging findings and different states of consciousness has been object of research in recent years, with the possibility that there are new options with the post-process of images obtained by nuclear magnetic resonance. This study aims to describe the alterations in the mean diffusibility by post-processing the DWI sequence in 4 patients with severe traumatic brain injury and altered state of consciousness, who in the acute phase of the trauma were studied with conventional tomography and resonance images.
